Serving the Edinburgh community for 60 years There are three generations of the Saunderson family currently working in the business, supported by their fantastic team of experienced butchers.

Meet the people who are responsible for cutting, preparing and selling our locally sourced, high quality Scotch beef, Scotch lamb, Specially Selected pork & poultry from our butcher’s shop on Leven Street, Tollcross:


John’s mother has worked in the office since 1969. She’s still keeping him on the financial straight and narrow!


After a short spell with the Bank of Scotland John saw the light and joined the business in 1980.


The best thing that John found at the Bank! Susan works alongside Janet in the office and occasionally helps out on the counter.


John’s son Ewan has worked in the shop since 2013, he enjoys playing football in the Scottish Lowland League.


Shop manager Alan has worked in the business for 26 years. He is a very keen golfer playing down the coast at Longniddry.


You don’t see Gordon very often as he works downstairs in the shop “engine room” producing all our Award Winning pies, haggis, sausages, etc. since 1995.


The newest addition to the shop team, just over a year now, William is “The Apprentice” presently training up for an SVQ Level II.
