Salt & Chilli Chicken Goujons

Perfect for a quick mid-week dinner! A recipe from Scottish Craft Butchers & TPS Scotland

Serves: 6
Time: 30 minutes
Category: Chicken
Cuisine:
sliced breaded pieces of chicken goujons with a red and white dip and parsley decoration

Ingredients

  • 8 chicken goujons (fillets)
  • 2 tbsp salt & pepper
  • 60g breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs (beaten)

Method

  1. Whisk egg in a bowl and add 1tsp salt & pepper.
  2. Add remaining salt & pepper to breadcrumbs (add more to taste if required)
  3. Drag each goujon through the egg mix and then the breadcrumbs.
  4. Gently shallow fry or if making slimming friendly, spray with frying oil spray and bake in the oven at 180c for 20 minutes.
  5. Top Tip – For an interesting twist, serve with dips such as soy sauce or sweet chilli or in a wrap with some fresh mixed leaves.
