
Saunderson’s is a busy, family-owned butcher’s shop in Tollcross Edinburgh. We’ve been around for 65 years and over this time have established an impressive array of awards for our products, butchery skill, and our customer service.

Job descriptions
Butcher
Salary: from £12.50 per hour
General duties:
- Carcass butchery (beef, lamb & pork)
- Production of pies, sausages, and puddings
- Serving the counter
- Preparation, packaging, and labelling products
- Making up customer orders
- Cleaning
Essential requirements:
- A passion for butchery/cookery
- An eagerness to work as a team
- Genuine care for customers
- Is proactive and thinks ahead without relying on direction from others
Butcher’s Assistant (Trainee)
Salary: from £10.50 per hour
General duties:

Our selection process
Stage 1: Send your CV to shop@johnsaunderson.co.uk. It must contain a letter covering why you believe you would be the right candidate for this position. If selected, you will be invited by email to Stage 2.
Stage 2: 10-minute Zoom call to cover some further questions about your CV and cover letter. If selected, you will be invited to Stage 3.
Stage 3: 30-minute interview at our shop during which you can meet the team and experience our environment. If we feel there’s a good fit, then you’ll be notified within 24 hours with an offer to join our team (subject, of course, to us speaking with your references).
